We’re teaming up with Alma Tetto of Imaginalis and Tabitha Rose for a weekend of healing in the rich, natural beauty of the San Juan islands. Join us on Orcas for three days of embodied alchemy to open the heart and dive deep into the self.

Held on a 26-acre organic farm stewarded by Orca’s beloved Tabitha Rose, we’ll gather for breathwork, kriya meditation, and waking dream practice. With art and nature workshops offered for children, the whole family is welcome.

A la carte offerings with the option to choose camping on site (all spots now full) or separate accommodations on the island provide the flexibility to piece together a healing weekend with plenty of spaciousness to enjoy the surrounding beauty of Orcas.

I will be leading two deeply immersive breath journeys : transformational modern-day rituals that combine breath and sound to touch the deepest layers of body and psyche. The arcs build in intensity to mirror and guide the inner journey, bringing gentle awareness and love to the places within us that have been displaced and disconnected. They are compositions that attempt to penetrate and heal what spoken words may not be able to touch.

Alma Tetto of Imaginalis will offer her depth psychological wisdom in two activating workshops. Using the principles of alchemy as a framework for inner transformation, these group practice sessions will guide participants toward uniting the opposites within themselves—conscious and unconscious aspects—to invite a fuller expression of the self. The first workshop will introduce a form of waking dream practice derived from Jung’s own method of active imagination to enter into and explore the inner landscape along with its symbolic language. A second workshop in embodied alchemy will explore a powerful kriya meditationto experience the body as a portal for deeper self-knowing and creative emergence. This meditative workshop will be a potent pre-cursor for Sunday’s breathwork journey, preparing and tuning the channels of psyche for a process of deep self-renewal.

Tabitha Rose will offer morning vinyasa practice. These alignment-based classes guide the synchronization of breath and moment to build heat, balance the nervous system and revitalize the body and mind.

Retreat Testimonials

  • This retreat surpassed my wildest expectations. From the brilliant facilitation, the safety of the container, the sweetness of the community, the potency of the breathwork, to the absolutely gourmet farm to table cuisine, this retreat left me feeling uplifted, transformed, and with a new collection of beautiful friendships. Highly recommended.

  • Heart Song Retreat was a magical, heart-opening and expansive experience for me. Carly led the retreat with humor, wisdom, sensitivity, and generosity. Her curiosity, passion, openness, presence, and creativity were infectious. She was kind, encouraging, and deeply insightful, holding space for each of our individual needs and always taking time to check in and connect one-on-one. I especially loved the return to ancient rituals of connection, like song circles, tea ceremonies, and ecstatic dance-- it was such a joy to share conscious space with others in this way after a long and difficult year of isolation! We laughed, and cried, and sang, and breathed, and danced-- and I felt safe, held, and uplifted throughout. There was a perfect balance between structured group activities and free time to rest, journal, read, integrate, and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. Vanessa Wolfe's organic vegetarian meals were truly delicious -- they somehow seemed to get better with each passing day! I left the retreat feeling deeply nourished and inspired. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough to anyone who feels called.

  • This retreat was a game changer. I came into it knowing my resistance to, and dislike of, breathwork. I also knew the power of the practice. And I’m so happy that I went. I can now say that I accept and even enjoy breathwork (with Carly Jo)! She is a gem and truly special in the way she creates a space for everyone to BE who they are and express themselves as they are. This is more than just breathwork though; there were both thoughtfully curated and impromptu activities that made this a truly special experience. Words can’t do the retreat justice … you must attend to experience the work, community, incredible food, and utterly magical location. Just go!
